Check your local Nursery or Landscaper as well for these materials. If you are only doing one or two containers you may want to consider some smaller quantities.

  1. Hi, thank you so much for your video! We just bought several self watering pot and didn’t realize that you have to use a different type of soil. I have just a normal potting mix that is for vegetables in containers. It has a lot of forest matter. The instructions on my containers say that it needs to have mostly peat Moss or coir. Can I just add sphagnum peat Moss to my potting mix? Thanks so much!

  2. Excellent reference – very quick and informational! Quick question: what ratio of worm castings to your soil mix do you use?

  3. What about fertilizer? When I bought my patio pickers self watering box it said to make a trough in the middle and add the fertilizer and then cover it back up. I don’t have azomite, but I do have worm castings. And I have an Espoma vegetable garden fertilizer. How would I use that and where do I add it? Also, how far away do I space the plants? Thank you so much! And thank you for your video!

  4. Hello to you and your family. Thanks for the video did you put together. It’s been very helpful. When you were going over the amounts of the ingredients. You didn’t say how much bolomite will be needed. This is my first year for doing a garden and I am grateful for your advice. Thanks again hope your family has a great day
