I just loved Frances’s water feature!
I'm the completely unofficial "vector control" for my neighborhood. No standing water! lol.
Winters can be very long. That is why IMHO small trees and some shrubs are a must in borders to ensure that your garden shines throughout the seasons
Super nice. Thank you for sharing! ✨💞
Love the green houses made up with old windows, doors, shower doors, fascinating to see. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Excellent recycling options that show it can be beautiful and functional. Thanks!
Mixed loose hedge =good? Yeah, by accident my hedge is finally trendy instead of a mess! (It was this way when I moved here)
Natural swimming pool would be on my "win the lottery" list. Sadly, swimming pools are not practical for homes this far north really, but a natural one just might be. Maybe my husband will get me a jacuzzi for our anniversary. Not as green, but a lot more likely.
Afternoon Alexandra, It is chilly outside, and I decided there are two videos I have to sort out quick. I feel Sunday afternoons are perfect for catching up on YouTube, especially The Middle-Sized Garden 🙂 I so enjoyed the various gardening rooms, the small water features is a great favourite of mine and then the various ways of doing paving. Those decorative planters do wonders for a focal attraction in the mixed borders. My most favourite is your wooden barrel water feature, it would be just the size I would be able to manage well, alas, not done that yet. One thing I would like to say and that is; how the British manage their gorgeous gardens is beyond us, there is harsh winter storms, snow in certain areas feet deep, frost etc., not forgetting the rain, but man when summer comes around the garden just flourish. Here in Africa, the sun can really cause much damage, too hot, wild summer rain storms and any gardener's biggest disappointment, hail. Yet we persevere and start where we can again. Nothing more rewarding than harvesting your own home grown stuff, be it flowers or lettuce for the salad bowl. Thank you for sharing and showing, your garden talks are always so encouraging and well informed. Do have a wonderful week ahead, take care be alert. Kind greetings many blessings.
A great video! Thanks for making it.
I really appreciate your no-nonsense, honest style; and you certainly know your stuff.
Love reusing old stuff to add that unique charm to the garden. I would like to have a mural drawn on the siding to the back of my house with a Village from the Caribbean that has the blue ocean and colorful houses. Maybe one of these days. I have to make sure it can withstand the winter and elements of nature so the colors stay vibrant. Just an idea. 🌸
I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind may clarity replace confusion. And may peace and calmness fill your life.🙏🏽
Thank you Alexandra. I love your videos. I too have watched your videos over and over and find new information. Great Work.
I can't help but wander what the shrub to your right shoulder & the shrub with the pink leaves to the left shoulder??? I love all of these great ideas! Thank you!
Wonderful video!
We are plagued by mosquitos, so a pond is not a good idea. We would need a pump to keep the water ciculating – so complicated – not easy or simple
Hi Alexandra, great video. It was nice to meet you at Gardeners World Live and take you around the Metamorphosis garden. Sadly today we started the breakdown of the garden. It will be rebuilt for a charity. If anybody is interested in how the garden was built with students on a low budget there is a link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OE7KZAmg1XU&t=268s
kind regards, Mike
I look forward to your videos every week. Always so informative and enjoyable. Thank you so much.
Wonderful content as always but this post is so very relevant. Will be investigating how to implement a wild life hedge in our garden. Thank you for your time and efforts, they are appreciated.
what is the name of the lovely shrub you are standing next to? The one with the pink tips?
I really liked this. I watched it a second time with captions at a 1/4 speed to really see the photos. Lovely!
This was such a fabulous upload Alexandra! I enjoyed it immensely. These were some very practical and aesthetically pleasing design ideas that most can attempt in our gardens. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your day!
Hi , I have watched your videos for the past year and find them so informative. I would like to ask where one can buy the gravel and pavers from in the UK. I am interested in the section 9.58, mixing pavers can improve drainage. Thank u.
Thank you so much for sharing another great video great garden ideas thank you so much for sharing it with us you gave me a lot of inspiration what I could do to make my car look more beautiful and more productive hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie
It’s for sharing so many beautiful ideas I love the Pond it was beautiful
We’ve been building those old door greenhouse’s for years on our allotment’s and using up cycled/reclaimed materials! Wonderful
I just love your videos!
Thankyou for this video, such good ideas. I love seeing all your videos.
Thank you for these awesome tips. Really love the guidance and how beautifully you were able to capture the natural beauty around you. Sending you much love.
Super ideas, thank you Alexandra. 👌💕
I loved Frances Tophills garden. It was so inventive.
Love the idea of a natural swimming pool! It'll have to remain a dream though – we've got water moccasins and snapping turtles. The greenhouse made from modern glass doors was a bit of a eureka moment – that seems definitely doable. As does the mixed hedging idea.
Thank you for these concise and informative videos – your hard work is deeply appreciated and I always look forward to your next one.
Great video, thanks 💚🌿🌸
Hi Alexandra, can you do a video on designing new build gardens? The do's and don't as these gardens are quite small and the soil is usually terrible.
How many times can i say you are the best .What great video with garden lovers ideas .I see so many ideas i can incorporate .will few this over and over. Thanks again
Fabulous as always. Thank you Alexandra .
I am an avid re-user, recycler, up cycler and was lucky enough to catch someone throwing away metal chairs like the ones in 'old is gold garden and got them for nothing!! it's amazing what you can find, I always come back from the tip with more than I take and although there are cameras all round and we are warned we will be prosecuted if we take anything out of the skip, I still do this! I'm so pleased to see recycling/upcycling has become a trend, not before time!
Hi. I like your dreamscape ideas, especially the swimming pond.
The door fences were funny and carry a lot of messages with door styles, and possible opening or closing for ventilation and views.
Thank you. I've been following you for some time now and I've noticed a big improvement, ie you have kept growing and learning and it shows in your videos. I have stopped watching some channels because I have outgrown them but you are still providing me learning new information. Thank you 💐☘
I like the idea of mixed materials for paths and patios but the money is spent mostly on the preparation and labour costs, so unless you were considering v expensive stone slabs you won't save a great deal of cash
So much useful advice here!
Great collection of ideas, thanks.
What a lovely presentation, I love the greenhouse made of old windows and the fence of old doors, I need a pond, and all gardeners daydream.
Thank you for this! I have some recycled windows made into cold frames, used as raised veg beds in the summer with the windows tied open.
Absolutely wonderful garden!
