  1. I Did subscribe , but not now .the comment I made about " cannot hear you " was meant to show you that at Normal level anyone looking at your video will not hear a thing . And it's not just pc's now it's iPads and I phones . The reply was sarcastic and well .. Not good .

  2. Dear swbono, I hope you don't think I left the below response as I would not ever leave what might be received as a sarcastic response to a comment. As for the sound (I realise you are trying to be helpful) it seems people hear at different volumes and there is nothing I can do about it now it's uploaded, sorry. And thank you everyone for your kind comments.

  3. Thank you for your kind words, LazyBiology. Good luck and I hope you can let us know how it turned out later in the year.

  4. I've finally come to the conclusion that I should grow my carrots in containers; too many underground and above ground pests here that just love them. Thank you for the information and motivation. Nice presentation!

  5. Durrrr …. I did reply over a month ago . Idiot .. U should read the comments and get you eyes tested

  6. Very good video. My hearing is pretty good, but even with my computer volume and the Youtube volume both set to max, I still had to struggle to hear it. I realize different systems are going to vary, but maybe you could take this into consideration when you make your next video and mic yourself. Thanks for your efforts!

  7. Thanks Haluk, just let them grow as they are. Thinning out is important and then the next lot you try just do the two rows…you can make it a comparison trial. If you do, let's know the outcome.

  8. One of the best gardening videos I've seen on Youtube! Good information given in an easy to understand way. It makes a very pleasant change to hear a clear English accent, and no horrible music getting in the way. I'm going to take a look at your other videos now. Thanks very much.

  9. I heard fine.  Understood everything.  Clear and informative.  Thank you for posting.  Right carrots, here we come 😉

  11. I really liked you video about growing carrots. I've subscribed to your channel and I look forward to following you on YouTube. Thanks for sharing.

  12. Your garden sounds lovely in the background. Thanks for the tutorial.  I will try the chicken manure on my next crop.

  13. I love this video. I don't have much garden space so I grow a lot of container veg. I grew carrots last year as per your instructions and was very pleased with the results. Every year I try a new experiment and this year I am going to try growing sprouts and flower sprouts in containers. I will only do two or three of each and it's good fun.wish me luck!

  14. Goodness, such a wonderful idea!  I already have my carrots in my raised bed, but next season I will definitely give this a try.  I am also going to start doing my lettuce in a containers with my fall plantings.  Nice and tidy in my opinion.  Thank you!

  15. Hi great video Laurence, Just one question whats the fertilizer are you using, also is it necessary to use a fertilizer or can they be grown without. Im asking as im new to this but also know fertilizers are used but just wonder can they be grown without many thanks

  16. I just decided to try carrots in my garden this year, this will be my first time growing them. I planted them in a round container and just sprinkled the seeds in 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) deep holes around the container and I hope to get some nice carrots. I think next time I will use the rows as you did, that seems to be the normal method. Thanks for uploading, I gave it a like. 🙂

  17. thank you Lawrence. I'm in my first season of doing my own growing and do to my yard and lack of usable soil I'm growing in containers on my deck. I think you just inspired me to buy another container for my rails 🙂

  18. Great tutorial Lawrence and 60 carrots is an excellent yield. I do think it is easier to space out seeds more evenly in rectangular or square containers than in round ones. Eibhlin

  19. I've planted up carrots in a tub in my polytunnel. I cant be doing with rigging up fleece and other barriers when planting in the ground.

  20. Great videos I love your channel, just planted up some 'purple dragon' carrots after watching this, also got 12 varieties of tomato and 5 varieties of spuds plus garlic and chillis this year also trying some OG kush, Silver haze and white widow for first time. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻.
    Best regards. 👍🏻

  21. Thank you for the lovely video Laurence! I am excited to be starting my first greenhouse garden this weekend. Very informative and enjoyable 🙂

  22. Hi, your blog is very inspiring. I would like to know how often you water them and sun exposure, etc. I found my carrot sprouts died out after grow about 1'' high. They are getting thinner and thinner, although longer. I water everyday. The soil is good. Thanks for any thoughts!

  23. Clear and concise advice. Depending on how many people you are growing for you should sow one pot per month through the growing season. If you're growing for one person then a 10" pot per month will be enough but if you're growing for four people then use larger pots accordingly. That way you will always have carrots available rather than a glut of carrots at one time. Same applies for most other vegetable too.

  24. Helpful video. I will be growing veg and fruit in containers next year and your advice is very clear, thank you 🥕👍🏻
