  1. Hey Jake i love your video's and you have inspired me to do a lot of things like turning my backyard into an edible garden and eating more healthy and practicing the martial arts (which have all been successful thanks to your videos) but i just have one question… Didn't you already upload his video a while back? haha love you man!

  2. Great video.  Thank you for sharing. At the beginning, I was thinking to myself that I had already seen this episode.  This content was great and very inspiring. Thanks again.

  3. I wish it was still 90 degrees. This stretch of 115's is brutal.  Also, thanks for the tip on the bag company here in phx that supplies shade cloth.  I got a roll today for my first year trees.

  4. I too thought is was a repeat video, but watched on and saw it was new. Your fans are going to keep you honest Jake! 😁  Love your videos!

  5. Ha, I thought it was going to be the trampoline video again.  Love the wall planters but how do they do in 115 plus degrees? I imagine those roots get pretty hot.

  6. Yeah, you Arizonans can be quite innovative in your approaches to gardening, water conservation and addressing the urban heat island effect. Kudos to you all!

But, I do have a few questions:

    1) How do you prevent termite damage to your homes, with all those plants right up against your foundations? Are these newer homes with Termimesh installed in / under the foundations? Or, has some chemical been applied, such as Termidor? Or are you all using a bait station system? I can attest from personal experience: bait stations do not always work. I had an herb garden against my foundation, and we did find termites in it after a while.

    2) How do your edible landscapes hold up in heavy rain events? Do homes like the one shown flood, or is there typically adequate drainage? And how well do the plants hold up?

    3) How common are restrictions on greywater irrigation systems and gutters / downspouts / rainwater harvesting cisterns in HOA communities in the metro Phoenix area? Honestly, for how little water y'all have, I'm amazed at how few homes out y'all's way have rainwater harvesting systems, if nothing else.

    4) The planters: I've seen many folks trash their block walls by watering plants planted right up against them. I take it that the irrigation system in those planters is designed to keep the irrigation water off the wall? Because the wall did look nice and clean — structurally-sound, I think. = )
