I made this Japanese-inspired garden toolbox with a Sepele wood Cut Off given to me by my friends at Greene Street Joinery. The garden tools are made by Carona Tools and they are really nice high-quality tools and they make everything from small pruners to rakes and shovels.

  1. Love it. Your videos always come at the right time, always relevant and fun. I just finished some outdoor chairs and a table with walnut plugs. Used your knot filling with epoxy and sawdust trick. Thank you!

  2. Jon has the design eye. Beautiful wood. Stunning result. Thank you.

  3. The part where Jon smacks the handle at the end is a little know martial arts technique called "Comment Defense Striking". Takes years to learn when and how to execute it.

  4. Wow. That is really a nice looking tool carrier. It would look great INSIDE the house, also.

  5. Beautiful! One skill that gets overlooked is how damn good you are with the pencil. Marking 5e measurements, plane lines, drill lines. Very good!

  6. A longer instructional video on this would do well. Could make a nice project for someone who wants to start using hand planes mores….like myslef

  7. Very nice work, Jon . . . 🙂 Always a pleasure to watch your videos! Thumbs up, Joe 👍🇺🇸

  8. Going to build one as a b-day present, it will be perfect, and put some Corona tools in it!
I even have the sapele. Just curious about overall dimensions?

  9. I don’t know why but I was not able to give you thumbs up as the normal up and down icons were missing! I hope that is a one off.

  10. Wow, such a nice little project, Jon~! I've seen you use Sapele over the years and I love how it resembles Mahogany. I've finally run across a place here in Augusta (GA, not ME) occasionally carrying Sapele, but they only get boards about 3/4"-7/8" thick. Better than nothing though, I guess. Thanks for sharing~!

  11. Nice job jon.personally I would've like a dovetail on the contents but each to their own. Talking of dovetails, did u see Rob cosmans dovetail speed record just got destroyed from a hippy who can't even see the wood through his hair. We need a real woodworker to get this record back. We can't have a Beatles lookalike tarnishing the woodworking world like this.

  12. I’m making one of these for the wife’s birthday is the sapele for the main box milled to 3/4 and did you use 4/4 or 6-8/4 for the handle milled down to what? Btw soon as I saw this I knew this was what I was making her .
