  2. I just started doing this a couple weeks ago, exactly like you did in the bucket. My plan is to plant simple things like tomatoes for the first year and slowly let the wood decompose. Next year I'll use them more seriously.

    Have you tried adding worms?

  3. Would semi burnt logs and charcoal be better to use in a hugelkultur bed than non burnt logs?

  4. Thanks for the video. I want to do more containers this year and like you said, it gets expensive. The thought just came to me today that maybe hugelkultur would work in large containers. Looked to see if I could find someone doing this. Sounds like it will work.

  5. I reckon if you compacted the spaces between the heavy logs and sticks with cow manure, that would cover your nitrogen issues and assist in breaking down the larger wood with the addition of bacteria from the poopy. then you layer as normal.
