I would like to take you on a walk through my front yard and show you how we have used used texture, foliage and flowers to attain interest through all seasons here in Wisconsin. The best Fall color is yet to come. We have done all the work ourselves and had a tight budget.

  1. You`ve done a great job with your garden! 🙂
I got so fascinated by the ornamental kale. Does the cabbage worm damage them sometimes?

    Regards, Halvor.

  2. Yes, the cabbage worm LOVES the ornamental kale and they damage it ALL THE TIME. I do not eat this ornamental kale that is in the front yard and I do use chemicals on it so the leaves do not get eaten up. Thanks for visiting my channel.

  3. You must spend hours just watering all those beautiful trees and flowers!I had seen your backyard videos and thought you were in a country location, was surprised to see it looks more like the suburbs there,It's just lovely!I have never been to Wisconsin but have a friend in Bedford.

  4. It takes about an hour to water & deadhead the sidewalk flower garden. If we haven't gotten rain for 2 weeks, then I water the bushes. The mature trees get water through their feeder roots when my husband waters the grass. He waters the grass every 10-14 days, if there is no rain. YES, a surprise is exactly what we wanted when you walk through the arbor & into the backyard. Most people say, "Wow, we didn't expect this lush look of nature." Thank you for visiting my channel & your kind words.

  5. Thanks Elyse. My husband takes care of the lawn, tree & bushes, the woods and all the hardscape. I have the gardens and containers.

  6. tngalinthegarden, it is always a delight to have you come visit my channel. Your kind comment is greatly appreciated. :0)

  7. I am so glad you showed your front yard landscaping. It is spectacular. I can see how much planning went in to the design and material choices. I am learning so much from watching your videos, Lark. Thank you so much.

  8. Paula, thank you. I think that is one of the benefits of YouTube…learning from each other. I just got done making 'oven' dried tomatoes. THANKS YOUTUBE.

  9. Lark: Absolutely beautiful! I don't see how you can keep everything you have in such a showy state. A professional landscape service would be hard pressed to improve on your great inviting entrance to your home. I don't know how you do it all with only 24 hours in the day. The front of your home could grace the cover any magazine. As you can tell I am impressed! Great job!

  10. Bernard, you are one SWEET TALKIN MAN! My husband and I do it all as a team…just like you and your bride. Thank you for all the kindness.
