Nice vlog! I dehydrated some of my hot peppers, same as you did – cit in half. I have a bag or frozen jalapenos from last year and a few in the fridge from this year, so I'm thinking of trying the coyboy candy. Probably won't eat it very often so I can give some to my boyfriend. I didn't get really many bells this year, but if I had excess I would probably just chop & freeze to preserve them. Oh, & last year I pickled a small batch of banana peppers & jalapenos too! I'd like to try doing the fermented peppers 😊
You can use some of those hot peppers to make a pain reliever. Thanks for sharing!
Appreciate you sharing these tips. Inspirational
Good to know the reality of health and concerning oneself with eating well. It's good to keep it real
I dehydrate my peppers am investing in a freeze dryer in the near future ,nice pepper crop huge
That is so me going in that shed, scared, and then being freaked out by some bug/thing on the pvc, knocking it on the ground so I can continue what I was trying to do. Love the comedic relief.
So far I've frozen many ..made pepper sauce and will dehydrate a bunch…it's fun
I had a bumper crop of Habaneros this year, so i have been making batches of pineapple habanero jelly, raspberry habanero jelly, Apricot habanero jelly…you get the idea. The good news is I already have Christmas covered…guess what everyone is getting this year.
I have loved following your garden this year!
P.S Such a smart ,sweet mom you are!
You're definitely braver than I am, handling jalapeños with no gloves. I did that once and even after washing my hands several times, my hands burned. I love making pico de gallo though, so I make sure I have gloves on. Oh! Didja know that cinnamon helps with blood sugar levels? I like oatmeal with cinnamon in it. You could probably incorporate it into your coffee or other hot drinks.
Can't wait to see your daughter's hair!
I keep fire cider on hand. Great immune system booster.
Hi Asia! You did your thing growing peppers this past season. I have to say that I'm finally seeing flowers on about 4 maybe 5 pepper plants. Woo- hoo😄. I'm hoping for a lot of jalapeño peppers so I can dehydrate them and make a jalapeño powder. My cayenne plant has a lot of flowers. Next year I plan on growing at least 3 jalapeño plants…and other sweet pepper plants including shishito peppers 😊. Thanks for sharing!
eating a steak without fat is like watching a movie blindfolded lol.
hey thanks for the demo. i want to install that system in my raised bed to hold my bug netting next spring. you will have to let us know how those fermented peppers come out. i do a lot of fermenting but i don't use that much salt in that size jar. only one table spoon.
I made an abundance of jalapeño poppers yesterday. Wondering if I could have frozen the poppers🤔
The same thing happened to my jalepenos! I had to save freezing them
How you cover your plants is awesome! I can do that.
Your channel is such a breath of fresh air. It feels like we’re walking similar almost parallel journeys.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with cowboy candy, but have you tried Mexican pickled carrots (zanahorias en escabeche)? They're so yummy, no added sugar, and use almost as much jalapeno as carrot. You can do refrigerator or water bath versions. I imagine they may originally have been fermented but I haven't tried it that way yet. I never thought about freezing peppers, I'll have to try it! Watching you is so refreshing, it's just how I operate: figure out what is still good enough for people, then is it good enough for the chickens, then compost. Love it! Have you tried overwintering your pepper plants? I'm thinking about trying it this year…
Hey Asia I love your channel! I am pre diabetic too and I am going to make the cowboy candy next season. I’m just not going to put as much sugar as recommended and only eat it maybe once a week.
I tried making hot sauce… failed! I typically dry or freeze my peppers. Never tried the pepper spice but since I got a good amount I’m going try it, thanks!
I love making Spicy Pickled peppers & Mirlitons aka Chayote Squash. Being Cajun, I eat them with Gumbo & any kind of Rice & Gravy
