Top garden companies, organisations and influencers get together at the Garden Press Event in Islington to share ideas and information about how our gardening will change over the coming year. Even if you don’t consciously ‘follow trends’, they’re still likely to influence your gardening because they are all around you in the books, videos, blogs, shops and social media you enjoy.

Great video Alexandra . Have a great weekend.
Thank you, I am off to Canada Blooms later this month and am interested to see if the same trends are over here!
That was fabulous! Thank you. I am sharing with my colleagues at the garden centre.
Thanks for this video 👍🏽✌🏽
Oh Alexandra, this was lovely! I think gardeners as a general rule are very open to new fresh things as well as our old standbys. The people you chose offered things that could apply to any size garden!
Absolutely did enjoyed your video and hearing what these experts had to say, and will be checking out a few of their sites. Thanks for sharing with us. 👍❤️😊
What a great medly of informative views from such a variety of passionate gardening experts! Thanks for all their links which is much appreciated.
Top vid as always . The Hardy's stand looked fab from the images .
ThankYOU!
Lots of interesting information and different ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Very interesting. I think many of the presenters were correct in their forecast for gardens in 2020
Very interesting video, thank you!!
I'm not affected by any trends when it comes to plants, but if that means more choices and new plants for us, I'm more than happy!! 😀
Have a wonderful evening!! 😊
Very interesting video. Thanks for the links.
Amazing to see the products made from recycled bottles. As always, a very informative video. Thank you Alexandra.
I could not agree with Michael Marriott any more. Working roses within borders is not only amazing looking, it makes for healthier roses – at least in my experience with DAs. BTW I think another emerging trend is working veg within your borders, to make it beautiful while making the most of your space.
Sadly couldn’t make it here so it’s great to be able to watch it from the couch. I’m whacked after a day in the garden 😊 – thanks Alexandra 👍🏼
Great video, Alexandra. I know how hard it is to lug a camera around an event like this and grab people to talk. Really appreciate hearing all these great folks weigh in with their thoughts.
While I appreciate the chairs being made from recycled materials, in my (snobby) opinion, plastic lawn chairs are just trashy. And they're not particularly durable either so even from a functional stand point, thumbs-down here. Meh. Just one person's opinion. Take that for what it's worth.
Thanks for the vid, Alexandra! I missed your "good bye!" at the end of this video. 🙂
Lots of great ideas expressed by the experts interviewed. You are so lucky to have been able to attend this clearly amazing event. I would like to see a trend towards designing gardens that can cope with our changing climate – windy weather, wild swings in temperature, droughts, floods, you name it. How do we design gardens that will thrive in such unpredictable weather and with changing climate? My strategy is to plant lots of different plants, some of which will cope and some which will not. Unfortunately this can give a rather haphazard look so clearly is not ideal. We need the experts to develop and show garden designs that are not haphazard in appearance yet cope well with the new wildly unpredictable and harsh weather.
Wonderful updates on gardening interests
Thank you so much continued to inspire me!!👏👏💕💕
Hi Alexandra, thanks for sharing your visit, so interesting to hear the experts' thoughts on what's going to be big this year! Exciting 🌺🌺
Thank you for sharing all that great information.
Even though I live in Canada, it was really interesting to hear what the industry feels are the coming trends, because I do believe these trends will be universal.
thank you!
Thanks Alexandra.I live in Sicily and for me your videos are a huge source of knowledge.I am so grateful.
So glad to hear about the garden pouches! My county has just STOPPED recycling water bottles and milk jugs. Who does that! Maybe finding companies that have a product and technology already can help expand into other areas.
I seem to have ticked a ‘dislike’. Complete accident, couldn’t be more wrong. Video is informative and thank you for all the info you squeeze out of the contributors
Thank you for creating this video Alexandra! I spotted you more than once trekking around with your camera and tripod and know you worked hard to bring everyone these ideas. Sharing on my channel's community page and LinkedIn 🙂
Excellent vid! Thank you so much for sharing. I think it's always so encouraging to see new ideas and technology moving into the garden…and to hear that more people are starting their first garden adventures. Very excited by the battery-powered/cordless equipment movement. There is nothing I hate more than struggling to start a gas powered mower.
Hi Alexandra from over here in New Hampshire US. I recently found your channel (via Erin @Impatient Gardener WI). Absolutely loved this vlog – esp Michael Marriott (I'm an 'over the top' rose lover). June 2017 I visited Peter Beales garden Attleborough Norwich. I have family in Norwich, Norfolk. Looking forward to my next visit. Peter Beales, David Austin and Norfolk Lavender in Heacham are on my list to visit.
Nice. From Marshalltown, Iowa USA
This was a spectacular series of contrasting ideas and approaches.
That was AWESOME! 😊 Thanks again Alexandra!!
Three weeks later everyone was obsessed with growing things to eat during lockdown
Health and gardening is very true. Near me are buildings which used to be an asylum more than 80 yrs ago. Part of their method of mental health was gardening. The patients had their plots of land they were responsible for keeping healthy. We are kind of living in a global asylum right now, so it is very appropriate to go back to the soil. I know it has helped me. From Canada. This was very good.
No masks? You people were clueless in March.
Thank you for this report! Very interesting! ❤️🙏
i'm NOT Spartacus (!) be an individual and not a slave to fashion! stop following the herd and its
self-appointed guru's arbiters and trend-setters! stop comparing your garden with others and just plant what you love.stop keeping up with the joneses and dare to make up your own mind. refuse to be spoon-fed, by those with silver spoons, Le Chameau wellies and range rovers! graham chapman says it much better than i can:

Another exc video. This looks like it was made just before the Rona turned the world upside down. Little did some of the speakers know just HOW much seeds and food production would be on everybody’s minds! And ornamentals and houseplants, since so many people derived comfort from their plants and gardens.
Love your vlog! More fotos of plants… the speakers can still talk but less of their faces and more of plant examples they are talking about plse!!!! Frustrating not seeing more examples of plantings for different shaped and sized gardens.
Great information as always. Thank you. I’m having a terrible time finding terra-cotta pots in all different sizes. Do you know why this is happening? I hope it’s not because they come from China!
Highcountrygardener here, Im in the US and it is great to see the UK point of view. I got a few tips and good ideas from your video.
Thanks Alexandra
