  1. we have lot's of those "tree collards" here in Portugal and it's the most common tipe around here. 🙂 they can get up to 2 or 3 meters high here. 🙂 gets really difficult to reach the leaves in some plants.

  2. Freaky flower fetish, or just good practice? I can't decide, but I bet that the flower pollen tastes way better.

  3. Tonguing artichoke flowers…. Awesome!!!! I love your vlogs regardless but the added comedy was really great!

  4. great video, thanks

can you eat duck eggs? is that why you would want ducks over chickens?

  5. another great episode…. I've been watching for a few months. I'm now a rock dust user. Congrats you one another one over! always learning from your videos, thanks

  6. @R6bbie Do a search for "tea smoked duck" and you'll find out one excellent reason to get ducks over chickens. And I should think the eggs are edible. There are places where people eat ostrich eggs too (hi australia) so I'd think just about any bird's egg is edible, though I'd be very skeptical about someone chowing down on eagle eggs (for example), to put it mildly.

  7. Awesome pollen trick with the artichoke! Just do what the bees do, lol.

  8. I think that's the first time I watched a youtube gardening video that got me that excited. lol The knowledge your share in your videos is priceless, but your humor is just as appreciated. 🙂

  9. Hey John, what kind of channel is this… lol good job. Just Kidding. You cracked me up with this one.

  10. Always look forward to your videos. I have some young plants that are not doing well in the hot Georgia sun; can you give me an idea of what kind of shadecloth I might buy. They come in strengths of 30-90%. What would you recommend?

  11. I would love to have a dollar for every time John says "basically". and "Like".

Though I have been accused of saying "like" way too much. Like an 80's Valley Girl on speed.

And I have never seen ANYBODY tongue an artichoke, period. That was plain weird. Made me uncomfortable. Though yes, it would make a great t-shirt.

  12. @kathpetit Hey, I'm in Atlanta! Have you thought about finding shaded, partly shaded, or mostly shaded spots to grow in? Also, I don't know what your process for growing, but something works for me is starting from seed. That way from day one (okay… maybe day two 😉 ) they are aware of what to expect as far as sun/shade goes. I've actually got carrots and kale growing in this heat in the sun and they are supposed to prefer the cold because I started from seed. Ones I transplanted failed.

  13. Bahahaha~~~I'm laughing so hard right now.
    You are so funny….XD
Thank you so much for such a fun video:)

  14. Love the artichoke pollen tip! And I'm glad you talk about shade in Sac bc full sun plants elsewhere can be part shade in this climate
