Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. Realistically, It can be a nightmare trying doing it yourself to keep clean, attractive looking backyard like this plus a pool: the weeds battle, fallen leaves into your pool, maintenance, irrigation system going bad, tall trees/palm trimmings… forget about doing it yourself. Watching some of your plant specimens die during summer onslaught is especially heartbreaking too, lol
That horseshoe above your outdoor pizza oven… it’s upside down. It’s supposed to hang like a U, that way the luck won’t run out. 🍀😉
Did you build all the hard landscaping yourself, or did someone do it for you?
Thanks Jeff!
I love it!!!!
Great video. Have a lot of ideas now
Very nice, but lots of maintenance. Have a koi pond myself here in PRESCOTT and the maintenance on it is very high and time consuming. Irrigation droppers are maintained a minimum of every spring. Landscaping must be watered, trimmed, mulched and fertilized routinely in dry environment. Spraying for pine tree pests and deer repellent are a routine. One can spend half a day, every day just in maintenance. But worth every penny getting it just right!
I love what you have done with your yard. It's beautiful and very practical too.
I built a similar seating wall in my backyard in Southern California. But my current yard isn't large enough for that.
Your ideas are great. Thanks for the videos!
BTW I bought a table umbrella that has solar lights under it so it lights up the table when the umbrella is open.
It's lucky to have your horse shoe facing up. That way it catches the luck.
I have been thinking alot of moving to the us lately. I currently live in Norway. I am a certified electrician (i think its called journeyman in the us). Problem is i cant find any info anywhere on how i would "transfer" my proof of apprenticeship to the US. But im guessing every state handles it differently. Could you tell me how this is handled in Arizona?Any help is greatly appreciated 🙂
Thanks for this, we moved here 3 years ago and have our own house now and we too have a large back lot that is a blank canvas and this gave us some great ideas. Thanks so much my man!!! 👍👊🇺🇸
Great video thank you so much I'm working on my backyard now. This is super helpful. Keep up the good work post more like this
What type of vines do you have there In the video. Need to find something that can take the heat
how much would a pond and pathway cost like yours? Great yard btw
Beautiful backyard- nice to see leafy trees and plants instead of desert vegetation in a video from Arizona.
Awesome backyard, man!
Thanks for the video. I just recently moved back to San tan valley and wow so much different from when I first lived here in 2012. Huge question. Can you do a video on front landscaping ideas of building gardens/retaining walls. I’ve noticed some of my neighbors kind of did their own things with their garden and retaining walls and I just recently did as well. Some forgot to get Hoa approval. Can you talk about the designs on retaining walls and what we can and can’t do?
What an amazing setup!
No Doubt ! I love it ! Jeff whats the sq footage in the backyard ?
If I buy there like I've been talking about for the last 6 months I also want a yard thats stripped so I can do my own creations. Well done Jeff 👏 I also love the pond !

When your trees mature you will have a wonderful desert oasis for your backyard. It will be lush and full of shade.
