We are finally back to visit with our favorite market gardener & friend, Jim Kovaleski, at his winter location in New Port Richey, Florida. Jim is known for breaking the rules of convention & this video highlight is no exception. This time around, we get to follow along with his morning routine of harvesting, packing & transporting his incredible produce that comes straight from his front yard by bicycle to the local health food store only 3 blocks away.

Each year in late spring, Jim travels up to a little town just outside Eastport, Maine, to grow the most delicious, clean & vibrant food you can find. Then in early fall, he packs up & heads down to Florida to repeat the same plan.
Jim creates his own evolving adaptations; a mixture of pure refined classic agriculture (the scythe), techniques passed along by elder growers, elements from books that have proven their worth & the intrinsic download from living with the land & slowing down enough to read it’s own suggestions.
He is able to make an honest living doing this very thing he loves so much. His days bring him joy, purpose, connection & peace. The insights & techniques he has collected are invaluable. He plants, harvests, preps & markets in a way that naturally flows & the whole natural farming process is just waiting to be shared with you.

How does he keep critters out?
Jim, do you take phone calls? Need some info on how you price. I was just asked to do what you do. I grow peppers.
Jim should be an inspiration to everyone
Beautiful blessings good job bless ☝
Yes, moringa is part of the only 8 pound for pound boxing champion of 2 decades- Manny Pacquiao's almost daily diet. Moringa is one of the few veggies so rich in Calcium, Filipino mothers are able to breastfeed their babies for more than 3 years. We usually pair malunggay or moringa with fish, tomatoes, onions, calamansi and ginger more than 3x a week.Moringa has big amounts of Vitamins A and C too! In fact its Vit C is higher than any citrus.
Should wash the radish as soon as picked. Otherwise they will be hard to clean
hi Jim, is the alum trailer custom built ?
This is beautiful bro! But what plant is that?
Thats the dream there.
Sorry. Talking toomuch and toolong
I don’t think I could take care of the garden like him at 70 years old with arthritis but does he have a book that I could buy? I could listen to his videos 10 times and not remember a 10th of what he said so a book is the way to go for me. I do live in Florida. I live in Port charlotte area
Ho my God
Beautiful.
What a beautiful vegetables garden I want to have like that can’t wait to plant.
No Cabbage White butterfly's in Jim's Garden ? I guess you have them in Maine though ? We are wondering if the soil is good, less pests but we still think we wouldneed to net our cuciferous plants here in the Uk. Incredibly inspiring work guys – thank you. This way is the answer for sure.
I wish I had somebody like Jim in our area. His produce is a gem. I wish to emulate him sometime in the near future. 🙏
Man I love this amazing work Jim
Jim is an amazing guy, love what he does, very cool.
Love it!

Interesting that a lot of the beds are on the ground. How does he deal with pests?
How do you keep animals and bugs away
i am sure the houses in this neighborhood costs penuts lol
What an awesome, slow life Jim has. It seems really calm and peaceful! I love it
Wow
He is in a very niche market place. That won't work in most places because of locale and climate. People around here will not pay $4 or $5 for a little bundle of greens. And, can't grow in January. Nice if you can get it though.
