In Part 1 of this video I am starting, (from scratch) a new Colonial Herb and Bulb Garden. In the second part of this video, we will trace the History of tea in Colonial America, set a beautiful Early American Tea table and test out 3 of the teas that were dumped in Boston Harbor in 1773 during the Boston Tea party.
A correction: John Adams and Samuel Adams were cousins, not brothers.

I have linked some of the teas and artwork here:

The books can be purchased on Amazon as used books, I see many available:

  4. Hi Jeri, love your Channel so interesting, love your dog. Cute. Love the Colonial Tea

  5. I had no idea that tea could be made from cacao hulls. Thank you for all the information. I was quite fortunate, some years back — probably about 25 years ago, to find a copy of Tolley & Mead's Herbs at Half-Price Books in the clearance section for $1.00. It's sitting on a shelf some two feet away, along with my many other herb books. Now that this beautiful video is ended, I'm going to shut down my computer and read for a while.

  6. Actually, John Adams and Sam Adams were not brothers, they were second cousins. They shared a great-grandfather. Of course they were both important figures in the American Revolution. I enjoyed all the information about the tea company and the importance of tea in the life of the colonists and the British population. I do remember reading “Johnny Tremain” as a Jr. High student. I recalled reading when Johnny tried coffee for the first time, I believe in a tavern, he was surprised by the bitter taste despite coffee’s pleasing aroma. He also tried hot chocolate, which he liked. Thank for sharing this lovely video.

  7. I bought a couple of vintage percolators from the thrift store and I use them regularly.
I not only prefer the flavor but more importantly, it reminds me of attending church socials from when I was growing up- good times! 🙂

And btw, I LOVE your English style dollhouse too!

  8. Did you find all the varieties of tea dishes at garage sales or buy them online? Do you just have two sets of cups and saucers, a dessert plate, and a third piece, and not buy all the matching pieces? Do you make the fingerless gloves that you wear? I love to relax watching your videos! Do you make all of your videos yourself, and do you make a script for each video?

  9. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Your such a talented artists and visionary gardener. I feel like I'm sitting in your home with you – just listening and nodding, savoring each precious moment.

  10. Live watching your channel, but Samuel Adams is John Adams second cousin, not his brother. Lovely video. 🌹
