How to set up an easy container garden re-using old items from around the house such as an old ice chest or storage totes and other things most people already have around the house. This is my first video I’ve uploaded. Thanks please like and subscribe and I will make more videos on the topic of gardening, and related topics, and even some un-related topics maybe.

Well done!!! 🙂
Seems to me you could plant more than 1 tomato plant in those big containers. They are larger than earthboxes that plant 2. good growing!
Your jalapenos may cross-pollinate with your bell peppers that close together… don't be too surprised if you get some spicy bell peppers!
Have you ever thought of mixing soil in a concrete mixer
did you put anything in bottom prior to the soil ?
You could do 2 plants!
great vid! been looking for a good way to start growing vegetables and herbs, with a lack of yard space. I subbed! keep em coming bro!
Best to move them to their final resting place before weighing them down with all that water. 😜
what about BPA in the plastic? Does anybody know anything about this subject?
Always squeeze the roots of the plants when you take it out of a container. The roots get all bound up in containers, and by squeezing them and loosening the dirt, the roots will want to grow more.
don't use chicken manure unless it's aged well, it's too hot and burns your plants. vermiculite is like a sponge that holds water better.
Absolute worst video on container gardening i have seen yet. Showed people how to waste 100 dollars in materials to plant 4 plants. Then you water from the top beating the plants into the soil, look at that poor pepper and tomato at 4.00 minutes , you should have trimmed your tomato and planted it much deeper than you did as well. if your going to show people how to do something you should maybe know how to do it yourself. Gardening is not just about throwing seeds into a pot and adding water. There is so many things wrong with this video but ill stop at what i said already.
HORRIBLE !!…..
Love the every moment of it
Looks very expensive
I did the same thing only because of my bad back, I took 6 ft cedar fence boards, cut them in two and made a stand for these storage containers to sit in…raising them off the ground about two feet. The cedar slides under the lip on top and its not a nuclear strike proof affair but its sturdy enough and high enough to be more comfortable for me, particularly on plants that need more attention.
PLEASE DON'T TRY TO TEACH PEOPLE ANYTHING ELSE ABOUT GARDENING UNTIL YOU LEARN HOW TO YOURSELF. TERRIBLE VIDEO👀😒💣
I like the video but… it’s called a cooler not an ice box
That knife cutting was satisfying
did you spend a lot on the soil?
It was very irresponsible to water them in the same spot esp with unused soil on the tarp wetting allover everything, and the guy in ice chest was literally flat at your hurricane! And yea, ripping the bags, almost cut yourself.
I would have placed the containers in their testing place first, layer the soil mixture and water it and the same time, then planted and poured water on the top, not spray.
I'm using pickle containers on my deck and the side of my condo 🌶🥒🥬🥕🍅🧅🥔
You kidding me dude, what a waste, I'm no expert you could easily put 3 tomato plants in them bigger containers and 3 pepper plants in the other two, some mulch in the bottoms of the containers plus planted alot more plants with all that material, really dont need the manure either, pull this video please, this pathetic lol you cant be serious.
A lot of wasted space
Seems a lot of expense for a few little plants
D-I-Why?
People sure are mad about the way you did things! I mean it was 7 years ago and you probably figured out to put some weed barrier in to keep the dirt in, add a little mulch or stone on the bottom to promote drainage, found better plants for the containers or vise versa, and didn't spend a weeks worth of groceries on soil for like seven plants. I would assume you learned something! Jeez, the internet is so judgey.
Good idea. Thanks.
Can you name the soil and compost mix. When I go to the plant store. I don't know what to choose
I want a garden, but I live in an apartment (ground level). This is a neat idea. I want to start off with roma tomatoes and broccoli.
Thank you. I’ve been trying to figure out what to use that is not overly expensive for my tomato plants.
Not sure if anyone asked this before, but do we need to line the bottom of the container before putting the mix in?
I'm using these containers because I found 7 of them by road for trash pick up so I got them, first time being successfully growing due to lack of nutrients in the quartz filled ground here
Research how Peat moss is made. It's not ECO
Actually you should have used sticks, tree branches , yard clippings leaves before putting soil in just like nature. That will get impacted. Most of my garden us totes. I use side holes to prevent tree roots from entering holes on bottom.
I live in an apartment too. Here is my patio veggie garden. https://youtu.be/fJXVicq_h2U
