Framing the view in garden design is intuitive and powerful. Highlighting and circumscribing what and how we want to showcase something beautiful and edit out the unwanted. You do it already every day in your own garden spaces.

  1. We agree, as many of your fans have already said, I’ll be watching this again to fully absorb all the great design points.
Take care of yourself and heal 🙏

  2. Loved this topic. I, too, am on the mend from COVID, and rereading your book from my backyard has helped me so much to get out of the slumps and sads. This time around I'm digesting it slowly and journaling thoughts. Thank you so much for giving me such wonderful food for thoughts and garden dreams. Glad you are feeling better.

  3. Oh Linda you crack me up. You know those moments when you want something between real clothes and pajamas 😂😂😂 —- love fr Texas

  4. Dear Linda, I was given an amarillis with flowers, when the blossoms wilted I cut one of the stems and left the second one. now as the rest of the blossoms wilt I noticed a seed head. how and what shall I do with the seed head when it's dry. I live in the middle of the Mediterranean sea.

  5. OMG… I had to laugh when you mentioned Stuarts sexy voice. I was going to leave a comment but didn't know if it was appropriate… haha He was definitely bringing sexy back…. as he song says

  6. Framing the view… thank you Linda & Stewart for sharing this topic… framing the view can be therapeutic for those who are homebound for any reason… even those in nursing care communities… being able to design a "picture" for folks to enjoy can mean so much to their recovery or long term health… plants attracting pollinators birds & other wildlife helps folks connect and care about life beyond their walls. Linda your channel is perfect for helping us "help" nature bring joy to all. Thank you.

  7. Well, first off, let me just say, YAY, so glad you are feeling better! This was one of those vlogs that I REALLY needed to see as I am thinking and planning for next year and some garden ideas for our new home! This year, I decided to just do an area off the covered porch and also around the porch with containers of annuals. I started off with a very soft color palette but then felt it was too washed out looking and added a bit more color…I wanted instant gratification this year! I just needed to be able to walk out the back door and feel as if I had entered a small English garden! And YES, someday I look forward to touring your beautiful gardens in person! How lovely that would be! Much love and blessings to you and Stewart! And again, so glad you are on the other side and now up and about!

  8. Glad you’re feeling better. Your gardens are beautiful. I’ve never seen them in person but I believe they are more beautiful in person. Thanks for sharing!

  9. Welcome, dear Linda! But, you still have to rest.
Nicely explained view of the garden! It gives a whole new insight. Thank you!

  10. This was the best! I need a redbud. You really rock that dress and I’m glad to know it’s linen and cotton. Thanks for soldiering through this video in spite of your vocal recovery. You affirmed my natural intuition for beauty as well as giving concrete principles and ideas/inspiration for the garden.

  11. Beautiful! I learn so much from you. Thrift some old mirrors to hang around the garden and double the size of those views! Behind the bench at the back of the potager, for instance.

  12. Such a beautiful view from the gate looking into your backyard! You have several different beautiful views! Your garden is beautiful!

  13. Happy you are feeling better. Great video. I get so excited to see a "New" video! LOL! The view from your studio is stunning! The arch of your trees really does frame the views beautifully. Have you thought of adding cushions in a pop of color to your newly painted chairs? Maybe bright pink or even black and white print.Just a thought. Excellent work, Stewart! Always.

  14. Wow. Good to see you up and running, Linda. Great video. Stewart, if you ever do voice-overs, let us know!! Stay well you two.💚

  15. Your yard looks especially beautiful today. I enjoyed your chat on framing the view in your garden today. I'm glad you're on the mend!
