I’d use some low light faves like caladiums, ferns, and perhaps begonias. Another idea, much less maintenance and trouble, is just a line of liriope. They like sun, but they also do fine in the shade, are perfect for edging spaces like yours and have an appealing “fluffy” but uniform and full look. They are so hard to kill and can survive drought for a while. In fact, they spread like disease, but with your setup, that won’t be a problem! Good luck!

Ferns if you can keep them wet.
Bromeliads, depending on the variety, can make it in full shade, and once established are fine with erratic watering. They are mosquito breeding centers though.
I’d be tempted to try peace lilies, but they are finicky about water and can’t take freezes.
I like the idea about liriope but if that’s full shade they might struggle.

A combination of different hostas and heucheras would provide plenty of color just from the foliage. Maybe with the occasional tall caladium interspersed.

Try host as.. .different sizes, colors. Think a variegated would look nice. Just my opinion.
