I have a few bushes like this where it has certain spots where it’s starting to die off even though there isn’t a change in the watering schedule. Could this be a disease and if so how do I treat it?

Mine did that and the misses couldn’t understand why, but that’s where I peed when I was drinking beer out on the porch. She still doesn’t know.

Dog widdle? Looks like someone’s posted a pee-mail there a few times.
If you poke around under there, you’ll find that it’s not one bush you’re looking at there. More like 5.
Only the one really sick one though.
I had a whole edging of these around the edge of my deck. Turned out they’d been trenched into clay, and once they’d used all the nutrient in the soil they were planted with, they all got sad and gave up.
Worth figuring it out accurately before you lose more.

What was in the place where the white ring is? Was it something blocking sunlight? Something that encouraged dog visits? It just seems really strange that the hedge is dying right where a mystery pot was.

Looks like a [disease](https://extension.umd.edu/resource/boxwood-identify-and-manage-common-problems), and eventually the entire shrub will turn brown. The part on the right looks farther along than the left. If this were mine I’d start looking for a replacement.
