Fellow Irelander here! I’m amazed you are doing so well with these outside – congrats! I grow chillies in the greenhouse and even behind glass I find them quite challenging. This year I planted too late and will have issues ripening all of mine for sure. If you don’t have success overwintering your plants, try sowing new ones next February for an earlier start. I keep chickens too….you’re right there is pride and considerable satisfaction in having your own produce. Noting tastes as good as home grown scrambled egg, and home grown tomatoes.
