I had planted this rose mallow in clay soil without amending it because I didn’t know what I was doing. Tried to ammend soil to no avail. Leaves shriveled up and fell on all the branches. Since moving to pot a week ago, before the final branch lost all leaves, the last branch has been growing again. I know its dormant period is coming soon. Should I prune the branches that aren’t returning, keep it as is, or give up on this plant entirely?
