Incredible. I thought potatoes would be easy to grow in grow sacks. I had six 10-gallon sacks out this year with russets and fingerlings in them, using compost soil and steadily adding more on top until the leafy tops were at the top of the grow sacks. Most of my russets were barely larger than a quarter, maybe one per potato plant sprout, and we were able to get one meal for two from the entire six sack harvest.
I chopped the sprouted potato in 4 parts, each piece with a sprout of course, and planted with the green bits facing up. Covered with soil gradually, until the bag was full. Then I let it be, watering sparingly, fertilised it once or twice maybe, and I didn’t dig anything until the foliage had completely died.
Hope it helps! I’m definitely goin to do it again with proper seed potatoes

Not only that, but I bet they taste better than the supermarket kind.

I did the same with various potatoes. Somehow only found a tiny potato when I tried to harvest. Somehow now there are potato plants growing out of nowhere.
I feel retarded.

When the famine hits, I am going to starve.

Very nice harvest!!
Thank you all for the kind comments!
Answering your questions: I used a cheap grow bag, not sure how many gallons it holds, but it was this one: https://www.poundshop.com/universal-grow-bag.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Shopping_UPP_PMAX_SMC_TRO_XB70_750bd347-f993-4628-89c8-adca88e787f0&gclid=CjwKCAjwyaWZBhBGEiwACslQoy8cN6mtk2DXmPKF0xMtRhNWCujK6LeeDz8SeUjhqR0s9NbIeJTf3hoCuxoQAvD_BwE
