I always thought rooting could only happen close to leaf nodes but these Peperomia puteolata cuttings are proving otherwise. This is great news because it makes sticking them into soil easier as the long shaft of the stem helps to stabilize the cutting while more roots establish themselves. FAQ: you can transplant to soil whenever roots appear; some plants can even go directly to soil. On the other hand, some cuttings can grow indefinitely in water (@that_one_plant_guy ‘s specialty)
