Grew this variegated Frydek from a tiny corm, not really knowing what I’d get… and it turned into this.
That half-moon leaf honestly caught me off guard. Every new leaf has been a surprise — some marbled, some high variegation, and somehow all of them look completely different.
It’s currently in LECA and seems to love it. Strong roots, steady growth, and pushing out new leaves without drama (which, let’s be honest… rare for Alocasias 😅).
This one feels a bit special — not just because of the variegation, but because I’ve had it from the very start.
Curious what you guys think:
Does this count as “high variegation” in your books?
Would you keep growing it out or propagate at this stage?
Always cool seeing how these turn out from corm vs buying established plants.
Anyone else here growing Frydeks from corm? Would love to see how yours turned out 👇
