Hi everyone, I'm new to the sub, and wanted to share my excitement and a photo of my first ever raised veggie bed.
it's a 6'x3'x1' bed lined with cardboard and filled with some really excellent bulk soil mix that includes screened compost, native soil, sand, peat moss, and perlite.
The north/back row is Roma tomato, seedless vining cucumber, bush pickle cucumber, and black prince tomato. The front/south row is bush zucchini, jalapeno gigante, Italian oregano, poblano pepper, and bush straightneck yellow squash.
I'm in zone 7a. this spot gets full sun all day. I'm hoping for some good results and would appreciate any pointers!

Not to be a negative Nancy but thats a lot of plants for a relatively small space. 1 zucchini plant will take up more than half that bed when full grown but regardless it’s all about having fun and learning! Happy gardening!
I do plan to let the squash and bush cuke spill over the sides. I angled the plantings toward the corners/side and am hoping I can train them as much as possible.
If it doesn’t work I’ll consider it a learning experience 😁
