Extra large patio parasol that lets you work outside gets reduced from £319 to £114(Image: Debenhams)
The current heatwave hitting Manchester and the rest of the UK may be described as ‘mini’, but it’s got us all eager to get outside and make the most of the weather, while also giving us a taste of the summer ahead. To help get our gardens primed for some well-deserved rest and relaxation, now is an ideal time to smarten up your outdoor space and invest in some essential furniture.
While loungers and patio sets are ideal for unwinding, a parasol is equally essential to shield you from the sun’s rays, as well as provide cover from any unexpected downpours. That’s why shoppers are rushing to snap up this bargain at Debenhams, which sees the Living and Home 3M Banana Cantilever Outdoor Patio Parasol reduced from £319 down to just £113.79.
The free-hanging parasol is the perfect addition to provide some much-needed shade when the sun becomes too intense or you’re looking to avoid sunburn, and can also be used to reduce glare on screens when working outdoors, or to offer some shelter while dining outside. The 3M Banana Cantilever Patio Parasol can be tilted and adjusted at almost any angle, and features a free-hanging design that means you won’t need a pole, which can get in your way or obstruct your view.

The wide canopy measures three metres and is UV-resistant, helping protect you from the sun’s damaging rays. It reaches 2.6 metres high, giving you plenty of space to move around underneath it without bumping your head.
The base is fully mobile too, with wheels which make it easy to manoeuver around so you can always stay sheltered. You also have the option of filling the base, which helps make it more sturdy and secure, the Mirror reports.
However, if you want something a little different for your garden to take advantage of the brighter weather conditions, you could instead opt for this Crank parasol from Dunelm for £39. This grey-coloured parasol stands at 2.7m and comes with a free-standing feature as well as a weighted base in order to keep it in place against any breezes.

If you want something a bit more upmarket, you could instead opt for this Rectangular Parasol from Dusk for £99. This grey parasol has a rectangular shape, which may be more suited to some outdoor furniture, and an adjustable tilt to help track the sun, keeping you in the shade at all times of the day.
The Banana Cantilever Patio Parasol has been praised for its design. One customer wrote: “Excellent quality, really pleased with this parasol & the base is nice and firm,”
Another agreed: “Great product good quality, perfect for the garden shade,” whilst a third chimed in: “Banana umbrella is just what I need, shade is brilliant.”
However, not everyone was fully happy with the parasol, with another customer writing: “Very good quality and looks great, the only thing is it doesn’t lock in place when extended and covering an area so it keeps on having to be turned back to where you want it to be. If this was sorted out it would be a 5 star product.”
