I planted seeds from a store-bought cherry tomato and now the seeds have turned into plants. The plants are all 8 to 12 inches tall and are starting to flower.

I’ve seen online that you should pluck the flowers to get bigger plants and more fruit, but I have a small outdoor deck so I don’t necessarily want them to get bigger. I would like more fruit though!! what are the pros and cons of plucking the flowers? Thank you for your help!

Pluck it, it probably wont grow into a full fruit. Also, you need to put it in a large pot.

There are only downsides to this. If you let it flower now, it will channel all its energy and nutrients into the flowers, and by the time the fruit sets, the plant’s growth will have been severely affected. So pinch out the flowers!

Hey chief! If you already know this – disregard what I’m saying!

Anyway, you need a very big pot for cherry tomatoes. Mine is 50 days old and just reached 2 meters in height. I wouldn’t recommend anything smaller than 15 liters. 20-30 is ideal depending on your preferred size and desired output.

Have a good one! It’s a great plant!

You need a huge pot for cherry tomatoes. They don’t care whether or not you pluck their flowers. You’re going to get a massive a plant and a ton of fruit.

    Small pot= dead plant.
