SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Home and Garden Show opened Friday for its 50th year with vendors interacting with plant lovers and a plethora of landscaping ideas on display for the community.

The show features a wide mix of attractions, including raffles, plant bingo, giveaways and plenty of plants. There was even a Hulk Hogan look-alike greeting visitors on Friday while they walked through the event.

Sherrie Kaschmitter from Dark Horse Lavender shared advice for attendees looking for a low-maintenance plant option.

“Lavender in particular is generally a very easy plant. But it does have some rules. It does not like wet feet. You don’t want to over-water Lavender. In fact more people kill lavender from over-watering it than under-watering it,” Kaschmitter said.
