Those who haven’t checked it out— many municipalities have free compost for residents. I filled about 8-9 grow bags this morning- this would have probably cost several hundred dollars at a garden center.

Quality is pretty good too (it was steaming!)— I used it in our community garden a couple seasons ago and had the best harvest ever!

    Just FYI, at least in my city, the source of the compost/mulch is pretty sus and I would never put it on anything I eat. Pallets, press board, treated lumber, street cleaning debris, plastics, etc all end up in our municipal piles. The only time I made an exception was in the weeks following a tornado, where we had tons of freshly mulched trees in a separate pile.
