An enormous cottonwood w severe storm damage was just removed from my yard. Also the yards of 3 neighbors… Chiweenie for scale.

Anyways now that I’m completely broke my idea for the new barren half of my yard is just clover.

My question: anything cheap that would be better?

I’d loooovvveee to do something really creative and awesome and nice looking but for real any money I had went away w that tree.

Something you can do relatively cheaply is buy native wildflower seeds and spread them. Just be careful of the source since some “wildflower mixes” are not necessarily natives.

Make up a plan for your dream back yard. Native annuals/perennial flowering stuff great but bet you want some shade back there and what else. Figure it out and implement sections of your master plan when possible. I’d start by planting a tree or 3 and spreading a couple loads of arborist chips where clover and such isn’t ever going.

I can’t really get a good sense of the scale. Going to need to see more chiweenie photos to really understand. Thanks.
