Hi all,
I'm a new home owner. I've never done lawncare in my life. I have a house with a fairly big yard and I'm very overwhelmed.
I bought a lawn mower and that's about all I know.
my lawn seems like it has a ton of patches and weeds all over. looking into how to fixing this is so overwhelming and not sure what products I need to fix it
the weeds I have legit EVERYwhere are hairy bittercress.

This is a very high level overview. But I’d probably try to live and deal with the weeds for now. Run an herbicide at the end of the summer and then seed in the early fall. You could try seeding now, but it’s better for cool season grass in sept. Then, next year get prodiamine and apply it mid-late March to prevent weeds from germinating.
You’re going to need a spreader. And a sprayer. I might get criticized for this here but if you have a big lawn a one time use of Scott’s weed and feed might help you this year. But it’s overkill and not good for the environment. Jus make sure to read the instructions and apply while the grass is wet.
