I moved into a house last fall and inherited this blackberry bush. the previous owners said they hadn't used the garden in years. Are there any specific things I should do for this bush? I have never had berries before so a total noob here. Thanks!

What zone? If it’s 8+, that’s dead
Forgot to put, I’m zone 6a. And there was a single blackberry last year when we did our inspection so it had fruit last season.
If it is alive i like to cut the top off of the bush around head hight, I find i get a whole lot more berries because the plant is no longer trying to grow upwards and produces more shoots. Put some compost and generic fertilizer on top, prune off any dead canes. I like to trellis mine because they will bend to the ground once the berries begin to ripen and the bugs will get them l, but that really depends on what type of blackberry it is.
