MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Officials with the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit are seeking tips as they investigate a 46-year-old cold case in New Hampshire.

Rachael Garden, 15, was last seen alive on March 22, 1980, while walking home from Rowe’s Corner Market on Pond Street in Newton, New Hampshire.

Officials said “extensive” searches conducted in the case did not yield any results. They said they believe foul play is involved in this case.

When she was last seen, Rachael was wearing a two-tone blue ski parka, jeans, a plaid shirt with silver threads, and brown, lace-up shoes. Officials said she was also carrying a dark blue tote bag with the word, “Things,” printed on it.

Investigators on Thursday appealed to the public for tips in the case. They are looking to speak with anyone who saw or had contact with Rachael on March 22, 1980, or anyone who has information about her disappearance or the people she was last seen with.

Tips can be submitted to the Cold Case Unit directly at coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov or at 603-271-2663. All tips can remain anonymous, officials said.
