My late grandmother left me her African Violet a while back. Today I noticed mold both in the pot and on the plant, and I have no idea what to do about it. Can the plant be saved? Is it possible to take a cutting and grow a new one from that, or does that not work for African Violets? What should I do?

I’ve had great success cutting off a leaf (with as long a stem as possible) with a sharp blade, then planting it in already-moist African Violet mix. BTW self-watering pots are a must!
