I’m totally new to gardening.

I’m assuming this is a weed and I’m doing the right thing by pulling it all up?!

    Completely the wrong thing to pull something up when you don’t know what it is. Whenever you take on a new garden, rule of thumb is do little but observe for the first year so you know what is actually there – new plants will show themselves in different seasons.

    Looks like an Apiaceae, which includes herbs, veg, weeds, ornamentals and deadly poisons. What part of the country are you in and do the leaves have a distinctive smell?
