A group of young storytellers have helped bring nature to life on screen.
Six people aged 16 to 24 from across the region created a new advert for the botanic gardens near Haywards Heath.
The project aimed to engage young voices in sharing the garden’s message of conservation and biodiversity.
Wakehurst has confirmed that the project will return this year and is calling for expressions of interest from young people.
The garden is seeking creative individuals, with no prior experience required.
Applicants should have an enthusiasm to share ideas and create an engaging piece of content.

Harri Oliver, Participation Manage.r at Wakehurst, said: “This was an exciting new experiment for us, and we were keen to see how young people interpret Wakehurst’s diverse landscapes.
“By giving complete creative control to the group, we enabled them to form their own narrative of what the natural world means to their generation.
“We hope that their content will inspire others to connect with nature, but also to share the wonder of it.”
The advert was developed over four days last autumn, during which the group explored the site, generated ideas and shaped their storyline.
The group took part in a creative tour of the Millennium Seed Bank and the Loder Valley Nature Reserve, using the ancient woodlands and meadows as inspiration for their project.
Working with a videographer, the young participants spent one day filming the advert in November, taking turns as director and leading star.
One participant said: “On the first couple days I felt quite daunted about the project because it seemed like quite a big task, but by the end, I felt really confident as the project came together.”
The finished advert will soon be shared on Wakehurst’s digital marketing channels.
