My ficus tinneke has a long bare stem with two branches with good growth at the top. I want to get rid of the bare stem but am unsure of the best way to keep the two branches alive. If I chop them off will they require to be put in water to grow roots or will they survive if planted immediately but unrooted into suitable potting mix? I'm pretty worried about what to do so any and all suggestions and help are much appreciated in advance.
