I keep hearing conflicting information on this. I want to create a garden bed behind the red line in the photo and fill it with wood chip mulch. Information online says not to place mulch directly against bricks as it can retain moisture and attract termites. But then lots of information says it's fine or somewhere in between depending on conditions. I see many homes where it is against the home, including my grandmother's home which has had a garden bed against the brick home for over fifty years. Would appreciate people's thoughts on this 🙂

You’ll be fine. Just don’t leave logs or branches stacked next to house. (Cedar mulch would repel bugs).

Personally, I would put stone against the house. That’s what I did with mine. Still effective weed barrier if the bed is deep enough and it won’t retain moisture against the brick. My house is wood on concrete, so it prevents termites and ants from getting closer too. I still use bait stations but just another added deterrent.
