IPSWICH — The Town & Country Garden Club is set to honor Deborah Lambert, a beloved figure in the local gardening community, with a commemorative plaque and celebration at a newly planted daffodil garden near the Ipswich Museum.
The Deb Lambert Daffodil Day celebration will be held April 16 at 11:30 a.m., rain or shine, at the corner of Poplar and County streets. Organizers ask attendees to RSVP by April 10 to daffodilday2026@gmail.com.
The tribute follows a large-scale planting last October, when 19 members of the Town & Country Garden Club planted more than 1,000 daffodil bulbs in Lambert’s memory.
The garden sits within the old foundation of the South Congregational Church, adjacent to the Ipswich Museum.

Lambert, who died in October 2023, worked for 38 years at Corliss Brothers Garden Center and Nursery and was widely known for her expertise and generosity within the gardening community. The memorial garden was made possible through a donation from Steve Calef of Corliss Brothers.
According to her obituary, Lambert shared her knowledge widely — appearing on local television and radio programs, giving lectures and workshops, and teaching at local colleges, including Endicott College in Beverly. She also authored newsletters, blogs, and garden columns for various publications.
“Deb did a lot of things for our garden club. She was unbelievable,” said Town & Country member Diana Stump.
