My vine snapped this morning at a point where the stem was splitting into another vine. I didn’t realize that part had already started turning brown earlier, and today it finally broke off. I trimmed away the brown section, but now I’m unsure how to propagate it. The vine is currently growing downward, and I’m not sure if I should place it in a mason jar or a shallow bowl bc in a mason jar healthy leaves would go under water . Rn it’s hanging in a Tupperware. I’d like to keep the full length if possible, but part of the longer vine is sitting in water, and I’m not sure if that’s okay or if I need to cut it into smaller pieces. I’m unsure if I a) cut it in the right place b) how much of the vine do I need to cut into separate pieces c) how much to submerge it in water d) if the vine is growing downward, do the leaves that go underwater need to be cut out or a bowl be ok. e) how much of it should go under water. F) anything I should know that I’m not doing right. Thanks for any help to any of these questions!

Way overthinking, put the nodes in water and they will root.

Stick it in water so at least one root node is covered, and forget about it for a few months. Pothos propagate really easily, you’re good.
