This is our first year actually growing something besides flowers! We have another planter box same size we’re placing 4 ft away and putting a cattle panel trellis 3ftx 6ft what would you plant? Zone 6b/7a
Plant what you like to eat, not what randos on the internet tell you.

CHERRY TOMATOESSSSSSS – Sungold and sweet 100 are what we’re doing this year.
Add some flowers like marigolds for color and protection from pests!
Basil is easy and fun
Chamomile will self seed and come back every year so free tea for life!
Mint is always nice but I recommend a separate planter for that as it spreads FAST
Beets and lettuce would be good and easy early harvest crops for you in the month of April since you have slightly cooler climates.
Like another commenter said, plant what you like to eat but most importantly, just have fun!

Down the app “planter” – it’s free but you can pay for extra features if you like. BUT! You can use it to easily see how many of (plant) you can fit in an area and also shows you at a glance which plants are competitive or friendly with each other, and pretty good details about grown (I.e. full sun, keep in partial shade, frost tolerant etc)
I use it every year to help me plan when I’m not sure what I want to grow.

I’ll echo the “plant what you like to eat” comment – but if you’re looking for ideas, I’ve found that bush green beans grow super well in raised beds! I also like to keep a section of perennials like peppers or strawberries in each bed so that the bed is never empty.
