We have had this pineapple plant for 5-6 years. It came from a store bought pineapple cut top that my sister planted. We thought it would never grow a pineapple & just be a cool plant, but last year it started getting really a lot bigger. This year, it finally happened! A small pineapple started to form, now it’s taking off. This growth so far is astonishing! It seems to almost double in size by the day!!!!!
Pictures 7 & 8 are less than 24 hours apart 😳 Do pineapple’s usually grow super fast once they start to form??? We are so excited lol 😂 🍍

Hey take 3-4 years to grow, but that’s from what I’ve seen living in Hawaii.
I gave up on my plant on year 2. Fun experiment but i have other plants to take care of
Congrats. I grew a pineapple from a store-bought fruit as well. It took about 4.5 years from start to eating the fruit. I first noticed the flower in January of the final year. I harvested the fruit in July or August before it was fully ripe because i was worried the wildlife would get to it first. I had it on my counter for a week or two i think before i sliced it up.

To me it looks like it hasn’t fully flowered yet so you may still have some time. Also, pineapples tend to make another tiny plant on top of the fruit, and sometimes pups along the base. This resets the cycle if you want to do it all over again!

Your pot is unsuitable. The pineapple will be top heavy when the fruit grow, and your pot with dainty base will topple over.
My own pineapple plants each grew a fruit twice or thrice in their life time (2nd or later fruit came from ratoon suckers that grew out after harvested the first fruit) before they died off after 3 years or so.
