A friend had this and gave it to me maybe about 7/8ish months ago. It looked essentially the same when she gave it to me. I think maybe 1, possibly two, leaves have fallen off since then. The leaves have recently been getting dryer. For moisture meter pic context, I watered it about 3 days before this pic.
Ive been pretty cautious about root rot since I’ve dealt with that with other plants and online info so inconsistent about when to water so I usually water it about every three weeks when it the soil is is a little dryer. Ill use the Fiddle Leaf Fig Plant Food – 3‑1‑2 Balanced NPK Liquid Fertilizer.
Overall its basically stayed concisely like this but I can see a little new bud coming in at the top now. Soooo questions – is it possible for the stem to liven back up? And how do I make this thing grow?

Firstly ditch the moisture meter they can give false readings secondly no it epnt sprout on the trunk again unless you prune it down or use some other method to force growth there.
I suggest watering it thoroughly each time(water it once every 7-10days)..and don’t keep excess water in saucer after watering
Btw,l don’t use moisture meter!
