Hi! I’ve had my string for a couple months now, and I gave her a good chop after she dropped a ton of leaves. I used Keiki paste on some of the nodes/ends but I checked in today and she’s moldy ):
I really want to save some of these if I can. Is my sphagnum too wet?? Should I just replace all of it?? Thank you in advance!! 💚💚

Have you had any success propagating like this..? For me every othet way fails other than snipping in to butterflies and popping in to soil
How is the air flow in the humidity box? It should not be sealed, I regularly maintain and use a humidity dome/box for propagation and have no mold issues. When it is empty (rarely) I do let it dry fully. It also has decent air flow and is never fully sealed.
I’ve tried propping strings (even healthy strings with whatever (pearls, dolphins, hearts, etc) still attached & also just plain strings in soil, moss, water to no avail. I’m getting ready to snip my pearls & I’m gonna try straight perlite. I’ve had good success with other props in perlite so I figured I’ll give that a shot, cross my fingers, say a prayer, do the Hokey Pokey & hopefully wind up roots…PS My pulmonologist secretary props ALL her sucs, strings, any cutting in water and she has the best and most beatiful plants alot of times she just lets them continue to live in water sitting in her check out station in the office, no grow light, NO actual sunlight,…She doesn’t fertilizer ever. Basically does Nothing to them.. it blows my mind!! Definitely a massive green thumb!!!
