I think I’m not watering this guy often enough, so much so that the pups appear to be unsalvageable. I have a ton of house plants but this is my first air plant so help a sister out! Tell me what my untrained eye should be looking for, what signs of distress you see here (aside from the sad looking pups lolol) and recs on how to properly care for it as well.

The best watering regimen I have found is just soaking them for like 10-15 min in water every week – 10 days.
But, and this is CRITICAL, you must make sure they are dry and there’s not extra moisture anywhere before putting them back wherever or they will rot. You can let them dry on a towel or put a fan on them so the extra water dries.
Use a dilute fertilizer if you’re feeling fancy and want to see them thrive (or if you’ve got nothing you can use the “run-off” from watering other plants if you have other things. The brown water has nutrients they can use. Same warning applies as above)
