I got a new Benigo Pink Begonia a week ago and it looks like death. I repotted it into Foxfarm Ocean Forest soil which has been working great for my pothos and philodendrons, but my begonia looks miserable. It’s in a south facing window and gets plenty of bright, indirect light every day. I am bottom watering every time the top inch of soil dries out. I really don’t know what I’m doing wrong here, but maybe it just needs time to acclimate to the new environment? The first photo is the day I got it, second is about 3 days ago, and third is today.

I used Happy Frog for a while but switched to ProMix HP for my cane begonias with A LOT of perlite, some charcoal and a tiny bit of orchid bark. They’ve been happy in that mix for the past couple years now. Ocean Forest might be too much for them in its own.

Oh poor baby. I’m hoping it’s just shock. they are often dramatic when major changes happen- new environment and repotting definitely count. I’d start by giving it more humidity. A clear plastic bag or clear tub in the same location you plan to keep it will help. Check it daily to give air flow and see if it perks up. Then slowly increase the amount of time in ambient humidity daily.
