Where I grew up, these were everywhere! My cousins and I would collect the purple flowers, put them in water, shake them and then pour them into icecube trays and have them as a cold treat on hot summer days!
Yeah nettles do help with allergies.. however, they just soothe the symptoms… u want to get rid of your allergies…find a local bee keeper… get yourself some raw honey.. take a sloon for everyday… allergies will go away completely with in a year… my son as a child was allergic to everything.. was on inhalers nebulizers the lot… i gave him wild honey evryday for a year and all his breathing problems wen away… no asthma
