Not sure what you mean by “regular ladybug” but this is a ladybug larva. Don’t know the exact species however it belongs to the Epilachnini tribe which contains more than 1000 species which are difficult to ID from pictures as many species are very similar and the current taxonomy of the tribe is still under revisions.
Considering your location though it is very likely *Henosepilachna vigintioctopunctata* (28 spotted potato ladybug aka Hadda beetle) as you mentioned which is a herbivorous species of ladybug.
Edit: just noticed this is a gardening sub – it’s a herbivorous ladybug, so not really the one you want in a garden.
