I believe they’re ciliates in the genus *Stentor*! One of my favorite microorganisms, even if they’re not always quite so micro lol. A giant single celled critter that regularly eats multicellular animals whole is so cool to me. Also they’re both predatory and photosynthetic by way of symbiotic algae, which is neat.
