My figs turn

I’ve been following the sub for quite some time, and trying to use all the advice to make my fig better.

My spouse wants to get rid of it but I continue to have hope as it continues to grow new leafs in the top.

I now want to cut it about 1-1.5ft above the soil and out the top part in water for rooting. However, I’d like to get a better understanding if that makes sense and if so, where exactly I can best cut it.

Should i also move the pot afterwards to another location, eg outside, or leave it where it is in front of the South facing window in a warm bedroom?
