This one seems like I’d be tough since its so fragile but I’m interested if anyone comes up with anything.
I recently started working on grafting monkey tail cactus for a similar type project. Callousing now.

The stems on my S. morganianum are very narrow and get lignified pretty early, but you might consider trying with young growth and using any of the larger, thicker plants in genus Sedum (and closely related but now placed in other genera, such as Hylotelephium) as stock. I would be very interested to see an update if you do.
