I bought this Dragon Scale Alocasia a few months ago when it was a baby, and since then it has been producing leaves with variegation and some deformed leaves with these “spots” on the underside. I don’t understand what’s happening, especially since it seems healthy in the display case like all my other alocasias. Is it a mutation or a disease?

The underside looked like pest damage like the leaves were being attacked while forming which caused deformation. Definitely not spider mites but it does look shockingly similar to past thrips encounters I’ve had

Looks like edema maybe. Are you top watering and using the self watering chamber?
